A massive turbine generator is being transported from somewhere to Oxford CT. I set up along Route 44 to film this feat of engineering. I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)
In this video I, along with dozens of other railfans, chased the final Providence and Worcester RR passenger train throughout Connecticut. I followed the Two Rivers Steam Special from Putnam, CT to Old Saybrook, where the diesel engines were swapped out for the West Valley Railroad's 2-8-2 Steam Locomotive, New Haven #3025. I then followed this train from Old Saybrook to Haddam, CT and back before the weather took a turn for the worse. Thank you to TrainBrain2000, Zeffers716, Bay State Rail Videos, and Pilgrim Rail Videos for making the chase a lot more fun along the way. Hope you all enjoy because you'll never see this train ever run again! Filmed on October 30, 2016
Connecticut state officials met with "transportation advocates" on December 3rd, 2014 for the “Getting to Work: Transportation and Jobs Access for the 21st Century” event, to discuss the future of transportation in Connecticut. This is a summary of that event. For a more detailed description, and source material, visit the website: http://thegoodmanchronicle.blogspot.com/2015/01/toll-roads-gas-tax-increase-and-other.html

(SOUTHINGTON, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released a time-lapse video of the replacement of two Connecticut highway bridges. The $6 million project to replace the I-84 bridge over Marion Avenue in Southington, which was scheduled for completion in July 2014, was finished ahead of schedule over the weekend of June 28-29 using an engineering and construction process known as ABC -- Accelerated Bridge Construction -- in which the new bridges are built adjacent to the old ones and are then lifted into place when ready. "This project not only demonstrates the unprecedented investments we are making to improve and modernize our transportation infrastructure but also the steps we are taking to ensure these kinds of projects are completed ahead of schedule and with as little interrupt...

A federal transportation bill is heading to President Obama for his signature after a rare bipartisan move by Congress. It’s a huge bill that will hand out $305 billion across the nation, but what does that mean for Connecticut?
